Winter Freeze

Howdy Y'all,

First and foremost I hope everyone made it through the freeze safely and unharmed with minimal damage to your home and property. It is heartbreaking to see what has happened to so many of our friends, family, and longtime customers. Some of you have been sharing laughs and smiles with us for over 15 years now and it tears me apart to see you in distress. Please know that we are doing everything that we possibly can to address each and every one of your concerns and problems as quickly as we can. Our first step on this road to recovery is to communicate with you so that you can understand the situation that we are all up against.

The winter storm has absolutely devastated most of Texas and will likely take months for everyone to recover from. Since around 3 AM last Monday morning, we have been receiving hundreds of phone calls and text messages every day on our office and personal phone lines. We are also receiving mass inquiries via email. Due to the unprecedented damage caused by this once in a 100 year winter storm, we simply cannot process all of the incoming calls and messages as fast as they come in. To help put things into perspective, according to Pentair, 9 out of every 10 units that have suffered freeze damage will need to be replaced. There are an estimated 50,000 pools in Texas that have experienced major damage. 25,000 to 30,000 of which are in Houston alone.

Please be assured, we are working around the clock every day to provide as many solutions as quickly as humanly possible. We have contacted our supply chains and manufacturers to find out how much equipment is going to be available and when. Manufacturers are already working tirelessly trying to recover from Covid and with the incredible amount of new demand for parts there will be increased delays. I regularly speak with the local reps from Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, and Rheem and they are still trying to catch up since March of 2020. The entire swimming pool community has been working at "high season" speed since last March. Manufacturers of pool equipment focus primarily on the production of whole units such as heaters, pumps, filters, etc and miscellaneous/replacement parts second. We expect this focus to continue for the foreseeable future. This means that getting parts will be much more difficult than usual.

Our company is currently in the process of adding office staff, field technicians, vehicles, etc. to increase the ability to service you at a faster rate. Please be patient with us as we do everything we can to adjust to this new demand and constantly evolving situation. Our immediate plan is to get as many pools back on and at the very least have basic filtration. This will allow us to maintain the pools as best we can while waiting for the equipment to arrive from manufacturers and wholesalers.

It is our goal to be completely transparent and keep you informed as best we can while providing ongoing updates whenever possible. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this trying time.

Swan Point Pools will continue to uphold the highest level of integrity, honesty, transparency, friendship, and quality swimming pool service available every day.
